* Until 1245 PM CST.

* At 1143 AM CST, a dangerous snow squall was located along a line
extending from 7 miles east of Missouri Valley to 3 miles north of
Roca, moving southeast at 40 mph.

HAZARD...Intense bursts of heavy snow. Gusty winds leading to
blowing snow and visibility rapidly falling to less than
one-quarter mile. Wind gusts greater than 50 mph could
knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects.

SOURCE...Radar and webcams.

IMPACT...Travel will become difficult and potentially dangerous
within minutes.

This includes the following highways...
Interstate 29 between mile markers 10 and 77.
Interstate 80 in Iowa between mile markers 1 and 27.
Interstate 80 in Nebraska between mile markers 379 and 454.

Locations impacted include...
Omaha, Lincoln, Council Bluffs, Bellevue, Fremont, Papillion, Blair,
Nebraska City, Seward, Ralston, Wahoo, Gretna, Bennington, Boys Town,
Elkhorn, Millard, Offutt AFB, La Vista, Plattsmouth, and Glenwood.

Information:
Consider avoiding or delaying travel until the snow squall passes
your location. If you must travel, use extra caution and allow extra
time. Rapid changes in visibility and slick road conditions may lead
to accidents.

vehicles. The combination of gusty winds and falling snow will
result in reductions to visibility and difficult driving
conditions.

* WHAT...Snow. Additional snow accumulations up to one inch. Winds
gusting as high as 50 mph.

* WHERE...Portions of southwest Iowa and east central and southeast
Nebraska.

* WHEN...Until 6 PM CST this evening.

* IMPACTS...Snowfall and gusty winds will result in some reductions
in visibility which may cause issues for travelers.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...A glaze of ice will accumulate on power lines
and branches, and may result in isolated power outages.

Details:
HAZARDS...A band of heavy snow accompanied by winds of up to 50 to
60 MPH which can rapidly reduce visibility to less than one mile.

LOCATION AND MOVEMENT...At 1128 AM CST, a band of heavy snow was
along a line extending from near Pleasant Dale to Swanton to near
Mahaska and moving southeast at 40 MPH.

THIS BAND WILL BE NEAR...  Fairbury, Wilber, De Witt, Plymouth,
Clatonia, Endicott, and   Jansen around 1135 AM CST.
Hallam, Sprague, and Harbine around 1140 AM CST.
Cortland, Diller, Roca, and Steele City around 1145 AM CST.
Beatrice, Hickman, and Pickrell around 1150 AM CST.
Firth around 1155 AM CST.
Odell, Panama, and Holmesville around 1200 PM CST.
Wymore, Adams, and Blue Springs around 1205 PM CST.
Filley around 1210 PM CST.

This includes Interstate 80 in Nebraska between mile markers 373 and
382.

SAFETY INFO...
A rapid drop in temperature may cause black ice to form on roadways.
Black ice is nearly impossible to see and roadways may appear only
wet. Please use extreme caution, especially on bridges, overpasses
and around curves. Allow plenty of stopping distance and avoid
braking suddenly.

Conditions can deteriorate rapidly in winter weather situations. Be
prepared for snow or ice covered roads. Slow down and allow extra
time to reach your destination.
